Marine Biology Programs

EXPERIENCE YOU CAN TRUST

Learn and practice marine biology through a minimum of five programs on the surveys and monitoring of marine habitats and organisms.

SHARK ECOLOGY

A study of human impacts on the presence of sharks and the behavior of sharks was carried out from June to November 2008 at these Red Sea diving sites: Elphinstone Reef, Daedalus Reef, Big Brother Island, Small Brother Island, Zabargad Is., Rocky Is., and Habili Ali. A total of 194 hours of field observations were done; sharks were encountered during 110 of 138 dives.

The main outputs were eight species of sharks for a total of 292 specimens recorded. The presence of recreational divers was recorded during almost all the dives: 134 cases on a total of 138 dives, with a presence of a total of 971 boats and 15,601 divers.

OUR ITINERARIES

A selection of best routes of southern Red Sea Egypt

South & St. Johns

St Johns is a vast collection of small reefs offering some of the most remote and rewarding diving in the Red Sea. The reef covers a huge area and many dives would be needed to explore the numerous coral heads and islands.

Simply the Best

Best Top 3 sites in the southern Red Sea: Big and Little Brothers, Daedalus Reef, and Elphinstone. Occasional hammerheads, silky and oceanic white tips, dolphins, and mantas. A rare chance to spot threshers.

Daedalus, Fury & Elphinstone

Mountainous Daedalus with pristine, hard coral formations and a strong chance of spotting schooling hammerheads and grey reef sharks. Fury Shoals, a vast reef system to explore such as Sataya’s resident spinner dolphins.

EMPEROR ELITE

LIVEABOARD BOAT

Emperor Elite is spacious, custom-designed, and a popular choice. At 38 metres, she accommodates a maximum of 26 guests in a variety of cabins including the fabulous double Junior Suite which gives amazing panoramic views of the Red Sea. She welcomes you to her stylish air-conditioned saloon and the air-conditioned dining room is where great food and free red wine with dinner is served.

“Excellent. One of the best organised diving trips I’ve been on. Knowledgeable, approachable and professional guides.”
